Fermanagh 32csm Condemn Attack on Republican Monument
The 32 County Sovereignty Movement in Fermanagh was outraged to learn of the recent vandalising of the monument to the Brookeborough raid. A veteran of that raid, Phil Donahue sits on the Ard Comhairle of the 32CSM and the monument has served as a fitting reminder of the courage showed by those brave young volunteers.
We believe that this vandalising is not an isolated incident. Rather it is part of a deliberate attempt by individuals to stoke sectarian tensions within Fermanagh. We also believe that elements within the loyalist community are attempting to draw republicans into a tit for tat dispute. This will not succeed.
The 32CSM in Fermanagh stands for true republican principles, amongst those principles are a non sectarian stance and a secular political outlook. The 32 County Sovereignty Movement (32csm) firmly condemned the senseless burning of an orange hall recently as we believe that all communities deserve the right to live free of sectarian thuggery. We would urge those responsble for this vandalism to consider their actions and to ask themselves who benefits from this type of action?
As republicans we maintain that the British government has a vested interest in maintaining the sectarian divide in Ireland. Do not allow yourselves to be pawns in their agenda.
