Three injured in Coleraine “sectarian hate crime”
A woman and two men have been injured in what police are treating as a sectarian hate crime in Coleraine.
A number of people carried out the assault at Killowen Street shortly before 11pm on Friday night.
One of the injured men suffered a cut to his head and the other received cuts and bruising to his face. The woman suffered shock, bruising and a sore back.
It is understood the culprits made off in the direction of Pates Lane.
A police spokesman said: “Police continue to work closely with the community in this part of the town and can reassure local residents that the assault, which is being treated as a sectarian hate crime, is being actively investigated.”
Officers have also appealed for witnesses to contact them.
