Bandiere danneggiate al campo lealista di Twaddell Avenue
Flags damaged in Twaddell ‘hate crime’
Police are treating damage to loyalist flags and banners at the Twaddell Avenue protest camp in north Belfast as a hate crime.
Just after 7.30am on Tuesday morning it was reported that a number of flags and banners were damaged in the area.
It is believed three people were seen making off toward the Brompton Park area shortly after the incident.
Two males aged 22 and 21 and a woman aged 20 have been arrested.
They are currently helping police with their enquiries on suspicion of criminal damage.
The Twaddell Avenue protest camp was established following a Parades Commission determination restricting three Orange lodges from passing the Ardoyne shops for their return parade on the Twelfth of July.
The camp has been manned ever since and Orangemen and their supporters hold nightly protests over the decision.
