DIVIS ‘HOODS BONFIRE’: POLICE CHARGE TWO WOMEN AND TWO TEENAGERS
DETECTIVES investigating serious trouble at a ‘hoods bonfire’ have charged four people.
Trouble erupted at the Divis Street bonfire in west Belfast on Thursday night which left eight police officers injured.
Two women aged 26 and 27 and two boys aged 14 and 16 have been charged with riotous behaviour.
All four are expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court this Thursday, August 15.
A 19-year-old man appeared before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Saturday charged with riotous assembly.
Corey Smyth was refused bail after the court heard he was currently awaiting sentence on another riot.
A 47-year-old man has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
