Bundoran: consigliere shinner chiede rilascio di Marian Price

Cllr. calls for release of Marian Price

Free Marian Price
Bundoran Town Councillor Mick McMahon (SF) is calling for the immediate release of Marian Price.

The veteran Republican, also known by her married name, Marian McGlinchey, was convicted for her involvement of the bombing of the Old Bailey in 1973 and received two life sentences.

After her release from prison on licence, she returned to Northern Ireland. She was charged with a providing property for the purposes of terrorism in 2009. In May 2011, after a dissident Republican rally in Derry, she was charged with encouraging support for an illegal organisation and Secretary of State Owen Paterson revoked her licence. The charge was later dropped.

In June of this year, Ms price was transferred from Hydebank Prison to a Belfast Hospital on health grounds.

Cllr. McMahon said yesterday: “Her health, both physical and mental, has deteriorated and I am calling for her immediate release.

“I’m also calling for all politicians from all parties to make representations to Secretary of State Owen Patterson for her release on humanitarian grounds.

“Marian Price has been interned for two and a half years now, with no charges brought against her. It’s unacceptable. Her life is now in the hands of the British Government.”
