Mary-Lou McDonald: “Potrei guidare lo Sinn Féin”
McDonald – ‘I could lead Sinn Féin’
Sinn Féin deputy leader Mary Lou McDonald has said she believes she has what it takes to be the party’s next president.
Ms McDonald told RTÉ that Gerry Adams, who was recently reelected to the role, is still the best person to lead Sinn Féin – but added that she believes she could do it in the future.
“The reason he was elected is because he’s the best person at the time,” she said.
“There is no contest at the minute. As and when the issue of leadership arises, whenever that time may be, there will be several people who will have their hat in the ring.
“Do I think I could lead? I think I could.”
Fair play duit Mary Lou! An mhaith. I love prawns 2!
