Petrol bomb attack in Lisburn

A house has suffered scorch damage after a petrol bomb attack in Lisburn.

Molotov | Petrol bombThe attack on a house in the Drumlough Gardens area of Lisburn happened during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Shortly after midnight it was reported that a petrol bomb had been thrown at the house.

The fire at the house had died out by the time police arrived at the scene but has left scorch damage to the front wall.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack and in particular a male who was seen hurrying from area at the time.

The man is described as approx 6ft, heavy set, wearing blue jeans, white trainers, and a hooded top, with writing on the sleeves.

He is believed to have entered a dark vehicle which drove off in the direction of the Moira Road.

Police are in the early stages of investigation and have said a sectarian motive has not been ruled out but is not a major line of enquiry at this stage.
