Fresh appeal at walk for Disappeared
The families of the Disappeared have gathered in the grounds of Stormont for their annual All Souls Day Silent Walk.
Seventeen people – 16 men and one woman – were kidnapped, killed and secretly buried by republican paramilitaries during the Troubles.
A wreath was laid by relatives at the steps of Parliament Buildings on Saturday afternoon.
The bodies of seven victims are yet to be found – including 23-year-old newlywed Brendan Megraw from west Belfast, who vanished in April 1978.
His brother, Kieran, said: “There are families who have not been able to say a proper goodbye to their loved ones. We need information about where we can find their bodies.
“We are so grateful of all the support we do receive but we would urge anyone who knows anything to come forward.”
Around 20 people took part in the silent walk of remembrance this weekend.
“It’s been a day of reflection and a time to remember,” Mr Megraw continued. “But we have not lost sight of the fact there are still bodies to be found.”
The families urged anyone with fresh information to pass it on to the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims’ Remains (ICLVR).
