Police attacked in Markets after man is shot
Police officers have come under attack as they investigated the shooting of a man in the Markets area of Belfast.
A 20-year-old man was shot in the legs at about 21:15 BST on Tuesday and when the PSNI attended the scene they had fireworks thrown at them.
One officer has minor injuries which are not thought to be life threatening. He did not require hospital treatment.
The condition of the man who was shot is not known.
Detectives in Musgrave Street have appealed for any witnesses to the shooting or the attack on police to come forward.
