Teen arrested over Ardoyne riots
A 17-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the Twelfth of July riots in the Ardoyne area of Belfast, police have said.
The teenager handed himself in to Antrim Road police station on Thursday afternoon following the release of police photographs showing a number of potential suspects.
Serious rioting over the Twelfth period lasted for three nights during which police were attacked with petrol bombs and bricks.
It is estimated that the violence cost the PSNI over £422,000.
Last week, the PSNI released pictures of 14 people – including several youths – they wanted to speak to about the disturbances.
Up to 20 officers are involved in the inquiry into the disturbances.
