Sinn Féin Ard Fheis begins in RDS this evening
Members of Sinn Féin are gathering in Dublin this evening for the start of the party’s annual Ard Fheis.
The two-day event, taking place in the RDS, is due to be opened by the party’s Fine Gael or Fianna Fáil after the next election.
The peace process and Irish unity will also be discussed tonight.
Other motions include: reaffirming opposition to a visit from Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and the introduction of a 20-year minimum sentence for those convicted of paedophilia.
Voting on the motions starts later this evening.
