Man arrested over Palace Barracks bombing
Detectives investigating the bomb attack at Palace Barracks in Holywood have arrested a man.
The 48-year-old was arrested in north Belfast on Friday morning.
The Real IRA bomb in a hijacked taxi exploded outside the Army base which houses MI5’s Northern Ireland headquarters on Monday 12 April.
The explosion happened just minutes after policing and justice powers were devolved back to Northern Ireland from Westminster.
An elderly man walking near the barracks at the time was treated for minor injuries.
A number of other arrests have been made over the attack but so far no-one has been charged.
