Terror suspect held in Belfast
A man has been arrested under the Terrorism Act after a security alert in Northern Ireland.
Residents were evacuated from homes after officers closed part of the Antrim Road in north Belfast on Thursday.
Officers recovered a number of suspicious objects which were taken away for further examination, police said.
Those evacuated were later allowed to return to their homes.
The suspect was arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act and taken to the serious crime suite for questioning, a spokeswoman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said.
