Man held over Carroll murder
A MAN has been arrested in connection with the murder of PSNI constable Stephen Carroll last year.
A police spokesman confirmed the 22-year-old male was arrested in the Newtownabbey area on Tuesday.
He was taken to the serious crime suite in Antrim for questioning.
Constable Carroll was shot by dissident republicans while responding to a routine call in Craigavon on March 9 last year.
The Continuity IRA claimed resposibility for the policeman’s murder.
Two people, one a teenager, have been formally charged in connection with the killing.
The 48-year-old was the first member of the PSNI to be killed as a result of terrorism.
