Willie Frazer contro i souvenir
Frazer angered by ‘pro-Irish’ airport souvenirs
Belfast International Airport has defended the range of souvenirs it sells following criticism by loyalist campaigner Willie Frazer.
Mr Frazer took to social media to ask the airport “where’s your Northern Ireland merchandise?”
He said he is “seriously considering” organising a protest because “every last vestige of Northern Ireland’s place within the UK is totally obliterated by a sea of green leprechauns and pro-Irish paraphernalia”.
Willie Frazer described it as “blatant discrimination and a hate crime towards NI British citizens”.
Responding to the claims, Belfast International Airport said it sells a wide range of items from Northern Ireland companies.
A spokesperson continued: “Belfast International Airport is very proud of its support of local producers.
“Our retailers stock a range of goods including Ulster Rugby jerseys and hats, Shortcross Gin, Ruby Blue, Broighters Gold, Harnetts Oils and a range of Belfast beers and ales.
“Indeed, our recent Ulster Artisan’s Farmers’ Market proved very popular with our passengers.
“Like any business, we stock items that are in demand by customers and we are continually adding new products to our range.”
