Studente arrestato per foto con pacco sospetto indirizzato a Neil Lennon

Uno studente deve comparire in aula a causa della sua foto scattata mentre regge un pacco indirizzato all’allenatore del Celtic Neil Lennon, pubblicata su un social network

Lee Dunlop, studente all’Università di Stirling, è stato arrestato dopo che la polizia ha ricevuto alcune denunce su una sua foto pubblicata su Facebook.

Il ventiduenne è ripreso mentre tiene il pacco, vestito come il personaggio televisivo per i bambini Postman Pat.

E’ stato accusato di aver infranto in maniera settaria la pace e comparirà in aula il mese prossimo.

Una portavoce della Central Scotland Police ha affermato: “Un uomo di 22 anni è stato accusato di aver infranto la pace con un elemento settario. Comparirà il prossimo mese presso la Stirling Sheriff Court“.

Settimana scorsa due uomini sono comparsi in tribunale accusati di invio di sostanze esplosivo e di imitazioni di ordigni, dopo che alcuni pacchi sospetti erano stati inviati a Neil Lennon e a importanti tifosi del Celtic FC.

All’inizio di questa settimana la polizia è stata chiamata al club scozzese Cowdenbeath, dopo aver scoperto un pacco cntenente un coltello inviatto al presidente della squadra Donald Findlay – uno dei più importanti avvocati scozzesi ed ex vice presidente dei Rangers.

Student arrested over Lennon ‘suspicious package’ photo

A student is to appear in court after a photo of him holding a package addressed to Celtic manager Neil Lennon was posted on a social networking site.

Stirling University student Lee Dunlop was arrested after police received a complaint about the Facebook picture.

The 22-year-old was pictured holding the package while dressed up as children’s TV character Postman Pat.

He was charged with a sectarian breach of the peace and is due to appear at court next month.

A spokeswoman for Central Scotland Police said: “A 22-year-old male has been charged with a breach of the peace with a sectarian element. He will appear next month at Stirling Sheriff Court.”

Last week, two men appeared in court charged with dispatching explosive substances and hoax bombs after suspect packages were sent to Neil Lennon and high-profile supporters of the club.

Earlier this week police were called to Scottish club Cowdenbeath after a package containing a knife was delivered to club chairman Donald Findlay QC – one of Scotland’s top lawyers and a former vice-chairman of Rangers.
