13 agosto 2011, Derry: RNU protesta contro gli Apprentice Boys

I repubblicani stanno pianificando una protesta nel quartiere di Bogside a Derry per il 13 agosto, in coincidenza con la parata degli Apprentice Boys.

La protesta viene organizzata dal Republican Network for Unity (RNU) e si svolgerà alle 14 presso il Free Derry Corner.

Tony Taylor, responsabile dell’RNU a Derry, afferma: “Chiediamo agli attivisti di RNU, ai sostenitori ed ai residenti di partecipare al raduno pacifico per protestare cn la parata settaria degli Apprentice Boys che attraverserà la città di Derry.

“Il nostro Network chiede non vengano portati striscioni relativi ai partiti politici. Infine, chiediamo a chi parteciperà di farlo in maniera pacifica”.

Un raduno simile avvenuto lo scorso anno si era svolto in maniera totalmente pacifica.

RNU to stage Apprentice Boys march protest

Hardline republicans are planning to stage a protest in the Bogside on August 13 to coincide with the Apprentice Boys march.

The protest is being organised by the Republican Network for Unity (RNU) and will be held at Free Derry Corner at 2pm.

Chairperson of RNU in Derry, Tony Taylor, said; “We are calling on all RNU activists, supporters, and local residents to attend a peaceful rally to oppose the up coming sectarian Apprentice Boys’ parade through Derry city.

“Our Network stress that no party political banners should be displayed at the rally. Finally, we also ask that those taking part must be peaceful.”

A similar rally held at the same location during last year’s Apprentice Boys parade passed off peacefully.
