La Gardaí continua ad interrogare 3 uomini in collegamento con la confisca di 12.000 piantine di cannabis coltivate in una casa di Carrigans. Il sequesto è avvenuto mercoledì sera.
Adesso il 32CSM respinge qualsiasi collegamento dei repubblicani con la confisca.
Un portavoce per il Movimento afferma: “Questo è un chiaro caso di propaganda denigratoria e di opportunismo politico da parte dei nemici del repubblicanesimo. La casa è di proprietà di un ex prigioniero di guerra repubblicano di Meath e veniva curata da un ex POW di Derry.
“E’ stata data in affitto in buona fede. E’ stato fatto pubblicamente attraverso una inserzione in un giornale locale”.
Prosegue il portavoce: “Se la gente sceglie di utilizzare le cose affittate per fini nefasti, è stato fatto senza la conoscenza da parte degli ex prigionieri.
“Il repubblicani hanno una posizione dura sulle droghe e la gente non si farà prendere in giro da questo”.
Nel frattempo la PSNI ha confermato di aver compiuto oggi una perquisizione, collegata con il sequestro della droga, a Derry.
Una portavoce della polizia ha detto che la polizia nel Nord sta lavorando a stretto contatto con la Gardaí.

32CSM dismiss Republican drug seizure link
Gardai continue to question three men in connection to the seizure of 12,000 cannabis plants at a house in Carrigans on Wednesday evening.
Now the 32CSM have dismissed reports linking dissident republicans to the seizure.
A 32CSM spokesman said: ” This is a very clear case of black propaganda and political opportunism by the enemies of republicanism. The house is owned by a Republican ex-POW from Meath and was being looked after by an ex-POW from Derry.
” It was rented to tenants in good faith. This was done publicly through an ad in a local paper.”
The spokesman added: ” If people choose to use their tenancy in this property for nefarious ends, it is done without the knowledge of the ex prisoners.
“Republicans have a strong position on drugs and people will not be fooled by this.”
Meanwhile the PSNI have confirmed they today (Friday) carried out a follow up search in connection with the drugs seizure in Derry.
A PSNI spokeswoman said police in the North are working closely with the Gardai.
