Un portavoce del gruppo – ritenuto collegato con la Real IRA – ha affermato: “Riteniamo che queste azioni (le perquisizioni della polizia, ndt) coincidano deliberatamente con lo spiegamento di personale militare britannico nella zona, come è stato testimoniato, nell’oscurità, nelle stradine intorno alla città, pesantemente armato e vestito con uniformi nere”.
Sono otto le abitazioni perquisite e l’ultimo sarebbe stato ritardato deliberatamente per coincidere con l’anniversario dei membri IRA di Derry, Paddy Deery e Edward McSheffrey – entrambi uccisi da una esplosione prematura nel 1987 a Creggan.
Il portavoce ha aggiunto: “Il fatto che la data sui mandati autorizzino questi raid predatati, mostra come si stia deliberatamente utilizzando il periodo che circonda questo anniversario per inviare un messaggio al Repubblicanesimo di Derry”.

Armed military on the streets: 32CSM
A LONDONDERRY republican group claims heavily armed military have been witnessed on the streets of the city in recent weeks.
A spokeperson for the group – which has links to the violent republican group, the Real IRA – said: “We believe these actions deliberately coincide with the deployment of undercover British military personnel in the area who have been witnessed in the darkness, in back roads around the city, heavily armed and dressed in black military fatigues.”
It was claimed eight family homes were raided in total and that the latest of the raids had been deliberately timed to coinicide with the anniversaries of Londonderry IRA men Paddy Deery and Edward McSheffrey – both of whom were killed in a premature explosion in Creggan 1987.
The spokesperson said: “The fact that the date on the warrants authorising these raids predated both raids, proves that this force has deliberately used the time surrounding this anniversary to send an unmistakable message to Derry Republicanism.”
