Alcuni residenti sono stati fatti evacuare nel corso di un allarme sicurezza a Derry
Un oggetto sospetto è stato trovato nella zona di Westlake a Derry intorno alle 7 di martedì mattina.
Gli artificieri dell’esercito sono intervenuti sulla scena e l’area è stata cordonata.
La zona interessata si trova a circa 1,5 km da Derry. Alcune delle persone costrette ad abbandonare le case sono anziani e disabili.
I residenti credono che sia stata eseguita un’esplosione controllata sull’oggetto al centro dell’allarme.

Homes evacuated in Derry alert
A number of residents have been evacuated from their homes following a security alert in Londonderry.
A suspicious object was found in the Westlake area of the city at around 7am on Tuesday.
Army bomb disposal experts have been tasked to the scene and the area remains cordoned off.
The residential development is about a mile outside the city and some of those forced out of their homes because of the alert are elderly and some have disabilities.
Residents said they believe a controlled explosion has already been carried out.
