Un uomo accusato di avere un ruolo nella bomba di Omagh è stato aggredito nella Repubblica d’Irlanda
Una causa civile portata avanti da alcune famiglie delle vittime di Omagh accusano lui ed altre quattro persone di partecipare nell’attacco nel quale persero la vita 29 persone.
La sentenza su questo caso dovrebbe giungere la prossima settimana.
Il reporter del programma Panorama della BBC, John Ware, che sta indagando sulla bomba, ha detto che la polizia ritiene Daly l’organizzatore “pratico” dell’attacco.
Panorama ha anche rivelato che le prove sui telefoni cellulari lo collegherebbe anche alle autobombe di Lisburn e Badridge, oltreché Omagh.
Nel 2000 John Ware ha intervistato Daly ma l’uomo ha rifiutato di rilasciare commenti.
Nel 2004 una sentenza del tribunale di Dublino ha condannato Daly a tre anni e mezzo di carcere per appartenenza ad un’organizzazione illegale.

Omagh bombing suspect attacked
A man accused of having a role in the Omagh bombing has been attacked in the Irish Republic.
A civil case brought by some of the Omagh families accuses him and four others of participating in the attack which killed 29 people.
Judgement in the case is expected to be delivered next week.
BBC Panorama reporter John Ware, who has investigated the bombing, has said police believed Daly was the “hands-on” organiser.
Panorama also revealed that mobile phone evidence linked Daly to car bombings in Lisburn and Banbridge as well as Omagh.
In 2000 John Ware confronted Daly but he refused to make any comment.
In 2004 a Dublin court sentenced Daly to three and a half years in jail after he admitted being a member of an illegal organisation.
