Man punched in face in racial attack

A man has been attacked in a suspected racial hate crime in Belfast.

He was punched in the face while out walking in the Fountain Street area on Saturday morning.

Police said the attacker, and a woman who was with him, left the area towards Castle Street before boarding a bus on Royal Avenue, believed to be a 1A bus, at 10.06am.

The incident is being treated as a hate crime.

The man was described as being around 30 to 40 years old, of medium to large build, approximately six feet tall with a pale complexion and shaved dark hair.

He was wearing a yellow wind-breaker zipped jacket and dark colour tracksuit bottoms with three red vertical stripes down the side of each leg.

The woman was described as being approximately 35 years old and of medium build with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing a blue coloured top with a hood.
