Bridge bomb warning in Fermanagh

Police in Co Fermanagh have urged caution after they received reports of a bomb left near a bridge on Wednesday morning.

Polizia | Police | PSNIA call was made to a newspaper office shortly before 10am warning of a bomb in the Maguiresbridge area.

Police investigating the call have conducted checks at a number of locations.

Nothing untoward was found.

People in the area have been asked to be mindful and report any suspicious objects.

SDLP Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA Tommy Gallagher has said those behind the hoax alert have nothing to offer the community but disruption.

“Although details are sketchy at the moment about the nature of this alert, one thing is for sure, these people have nothing to offer but disruption and panic,” he said.

“Many people going about their work and daily family life have been hugely affected by this latest incident and I condemn any involvement in this.”
