Altro arresto per attentato di Massereene Barracks

Un uomo è stato fermato per l’attacco della Real IRA contro i soldati di stanza nella caserma dell’esercito britannico ad Antrim

I genieri Patrick Azimkar e Mark Quinsey furono colpiti a morte all’esterno della base di Masserreene, a marzo.

I due giovani soldati furono i primi obiettivi in Irlanda del Nord colpiti in 12 anni.

Il quarantasettenne, fermato martedì a Belfast, viene interrogato anche per i cinque tentati omicidi.

L’arresto è stato eseguito dagli agenti del Serious Crime Branch.

Altri due uomini, Colin Duffy e Brian Shivers, sono accusati della morte dei soldati.

Man held over Army base murders

A man has been arrested in connection with the Real IRA murders of two soldiers at an Army base in March.

Sappers Patrick Azimkar and Mark Quinsey were shot dead outside Massereene barracks in Antrim.

The two young soldiers were the first to be murdered in Northern Ireland in 12 years.

The 47-year-old, who was arrested in Belfast on Tuesday, is also being questioned about five attempted murders during the attack.

The arrest was made by detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch.

Two men have appeared in court charged with murdering the soldiers.
