La stagione delle marce 2014 inizia con la parata degli Apprentice Boys of Derry a Belfast
La parata principale si è tenuta a East Belfast, con centinaia di persone lungo le strade per dare il benvenuto a bande e orangisti.
Un Atto di Ricordo è stato recitato dal reverendo Alan Smylie al Cenotafio istituito presso gli uffici dell’Ulster Unionist Party in Belmont Road.
In precedenza una parata correlata era passata accanto alla chiesa cattolica di St Patrick, in Donegall Street.
In accordo con la determinazione della Commissione Parate, gli Apprentice Boys of Derry hanno marciato accompagnati dal suono di un singolo tamburo.
Mentre la parata transitava nell’area i membri del Carrick Hill Concerned Residents hanno tenuto una contro manifestazione di protesta.
Un’altra protesta dei residenti nazionalisti ha avuto luogo ad Ardoyne, quando un’altra parata correlata degli Apprentice Boys of Derry è passata davanti agli Ardoyne Shops.
Tutte le parate sono transitate senza incidenti degni di nota.

Apprentice Boys parade through Belfast
The Apprentice Boys of Derry have begun this year’s marching season with the first major parade through Belfast.
The main Easter parade was held in the east of the city with hundreds of people lining the streets to welcome the marchers and bands.
An Act of Remembrance was conducted by Bro. Rev Alan Smylie at the Cenotaph at the offices of the Ulster Unionist Party on the Belmont Road.
Earlier, a feeder parade passed by St Patrick’s Catholic Church on Belfast’s Donegall Street.
In accordance with the Parades Commission’s determination, a single drum beat played out as they passed the church.
Carrick Hill Concerned Residents held a counter-demonstration as the parade passed by.
Earlier nationalist residents protested at another feeder parade as it passed the Ardoyne shops in north Belfast.
The parades all passed off without major incident.
