La polizia ha sparato proiettili di plastica e impiegato un cannone ad acqua durante i disordini scoppiati a North Belfast
Tre agenti di polizia sono stati feriti nella zona di Woodvale a North Belfast.
Una donna è rimasta ferita da un proiettile di plastica sparato dalla PSNI.
I disordini sono divampati dopo che la polizia, in ottemperanza alla decisione della Commissione Parate, ha fermato gli orangisti e le bande che li accompagnavano, impedendogli di transitare davanti agli Ardoyne Shops.
I lealisti stanno incolpando la PSNI.
Uno di loro riferisce: “L’ho visto di persona. Ha iniziato la polizia. Alcune persone sono rimaste ferite dai proiettili di plastica”.
Tuttavia la polizia dice che una Land Rover è stata attaccata e un alto ufficiale ha dato l’ordine di impiegare il cannone ad acqua.
Si segnalano anche attacchi contro le abitazioni in Lancaster Street, vicino a North Queen Street.
Circa 400 giovani nazionalisti si sono riuniti in Crumlin Road.
Il parlamentare dello Sinn Fein Gerry Kelly si è arrampicato sulla cima di una Land Rover della PSNI per affrontare i giovani.
A East Belfast gli orangisti hanno sfilato accanto alla chiesa di San Matteo nella parata di ritorno.
Anche in quella zona sono scoppiati gravi disordini e la polizia ha sparato alcuni proiettili di plastica.
Lealisti e repubblicani si sono scontrati nell’interfaccia di Short Strand, lanciando pietre e bottiglie.
La Federazione della Polizia afferma che la “polizia è stata attaccata in diverse parti di Belfast.
“Gli agenti stanno rispondendo con il cannone ad acqua e impiegando proiettili di plastica”.
Alti ufficiali della PSNI hanno chiesto di porre fine ai disordini.
La PSNI ha detto: “La polizia sta facendo appello alla calma e chiede una forte leadership da tutte le parti”.

BREAKING NEWS…..POLICE have fired baton rounds and used water during trouble in Belfast on Friday evening.
Three police officers have been injured in the Woodvale area of north Belfast.
One woman was hurt when she was struck with police baton round in the Woodvale area.
It came after police stopped Orangemen and bandsmen from walking past the Ardoyne shops.
Loyalists are blaming the PSNI.
One said: “I saw it first hand. The police started this. A number of people have injured from baton rounds.”
However, police say land rovers came under attack and a senior officer gave the order for water cannon to be used.
There are also reports of homes being attacked in Lancaster Street off North Queen Street.
Around 400 nationalist youths have gathered on the Crumlin Road.
Sinn Fein MLA Gerry Kelly has climbed on top of a PSNI land rover to address youths.
In east Belfast, Orangemen have paraded past St Matthew’s Church on their return journey home.
However, serious rioting has now erupted in the area and baton rounds have been fired.
Loyalist and republicans clashed at the Short Strand interface, hurling missiles, stones and bottles.
The Police Federation said: “Police have come under attack in several parts of Belfast.
“Officers are responding with water canon and AEP deployment (baton rounds).”
Senior PSNI officers have called for an end to the trouble.
The PSNI said: “Police are appealing for calm and asking for strong leadership for all parties.”
