Arlene Foster ha parlato dopo che la Commissione ha imposto misure restrittive a due distinti cortei della Royal Black Institution a Fermanagh lo scorso fine settimana.
Nei villaggi di confine di Newtownbutler e Rosslea non è consentito ai membri degli Ordini Lealisti di completare pienamente il percorso richiesto.
Nella sua determinazione, la Commissione ha dichiarato che se fosse concesso alle parate di percorrere il percorso nella sua interezza ci sarebbe un “effetto negativo sulle relazioni comunitarie ed un potenziale disordine pubblico”.
A Newtownbutler, i lealisti non potranno procedere su High Street e Main Street.
A Rosslea, come avviene da alcuni anni, viene impedito di marciare su Main Street oltrepassando la Hall della Royal Black Preceptory.
Sottolineando la sua “grande delusione” per la sentenza della Commissione Parate, la Foster bolla l’organismo di controllo come una “farsa assoluta”.
“Dopo Hillsborough avevamo un modello per andare oltre, liberandoci della Commissione Parate, ma purtroppo altri unionisti ha assunto una posizione diversa”, ha detto il ministro unionista.
“Come risultato, abbiamo ancora la Commissione in grado di prendere decisioni che sono illogiche e irrazionali, e aggiungendo tensione nelle comunità [di Rosslea e Newtownbutler] dove i protestanti sono una minoranza”.
Sulla precedente decisione della Commissione di imporre restrizioni anche ad una parata dello scorso mese, sempre a Newtownbutler, la parlamentare del DUP ha aggiunto: “Mi sembra ancora una volta che la Commissione Parate deve essere abolita il più presto possibile e ho davvero bisogno che tutte le istituzioni lealiste e il forum delle bande musicali si riuniscano in modo da poter riattivare i negoziati per sbarazzarci della Commissione.
“E’ abbastanza chiaro le determinazioni di questa estate sono state inutili in relazione ai rapporti tra comunità del Nord”.
Il consigliere UUP Harold Andrews, che è Maestro Venerabile di Gordon e Nixon Memorial Temperance RBP No 473 a Rosslea, ha espresso tristezza per l’ultima battuta d’arresto nei confronti dell’Ordine Lealista.
“Siamo delusi dalla decisione, perché un tempo eravamo abituati a sfilare attraverso la maggior parte del villaggio, ma ora siamo limitati a sfilare solo nella nostra Hall”.
Andrews ha inoltre confermato che la banda di fiati di Inver avrebbe partecipato alla parata. Lo scorso mese, la Orange Hall utilizzata dalla banda fu distrutta in un incendio doloso.
Un portavoce della Commissione Parate, ha dichiarato: “Continuiamo a incoraggiare tutte le parti a impegnarsi nel dialogo e nei prossimi mesi cercheremo di organizzare incontri nella zona”.
Ha rifiutato di commentare le osservazioni di Arlene Foster.

Fresh call for parades body to be scrapped
DUP MLA Arlene Foster was speaking after the parades body placed restrictions on two separate Royal Black Institution feeder parades in Fermanagh this weekend.
Sir Knights in the border villages of Newtownbutler and Rosslea are not allowed to fully complete their requested marches and will also both be subject to republican protests tomorrow.
In its determinations, the Parades Commission stated that should both parades process the entirety of their notified routes, there would be an “adverse effect on community relations and a potential for public disorder”.
In Newtownbutler, brethren are prohibited from proceeding on any part of its notified return route on High Street and Main Street.
In Rosslea, as has been the case for a number of years, Sir Knights are prevented from marching on the Main Street beyond the Royal Black Preceptory hall.
Stressing her “huge disappointment” at the rulings by the Parades Commission, Mrs Foster slammed the body as an “absolute farce”.
“After Hillsborough we had a template to move forward and get rid of the Parades Commission but other unionists unfortunately took up a different position,” said the enterprise minister.
“As a result of that we still have the commission making decisions that are illogical and irrational, and adding to community tension in [Rosslea and Newtownbutler] where Protestants are very much in the minority.”
On the commission’s previous decision to also place restrictions on a band parade in Newtownbutler last month, the DUP MLA added: “It just signals to me again that the Parades Commission needs to be abolished as soon as possible and I really do urge all of the loyal institutions and the band forums to come together so that we can reactivate negotiations in relation to getting rid of it.
“It is quite clear their determinations this summer have been unhelpful in relation to community relations across Northern Ireland.”
UUP councillor Harold Andrews, who is worshipful master of Gordon and Nixon Memorial Temperance RBP No 473 in Rosslea, also expressed sadness at the latest setback for the loyal order.
“We are disappointed with the decision because at one time we used to parade most of the village but now we are restricted to only parading to our hall.”
Mr Andrews also confirmed Inver flute band would participate in the parade. Last month, the nearby Orange hall used by the band was destroyed in an arson attack.
A Parades Commission spokesman said: “We continue to encourage all parties to engage in dialogue and in the coming months we will seek to organise meetings in the area.”
He declined to comment on Mrs Foster’s remarks.
