Arrestati due figli di Kevin McDaid

Due figli del lavoratore cattolico di Coleraine sono stati arrestati dal Serious Crime Branch della PSNI

Gli arresti sarebbero collegati agli eventi che hanno circondato la morte di McDaid a maggio, piuttosto che con la morte stessa.

I due fratelli, entrambi di 22 anni, vengono interrogati anche sui fatti legati al tentato omicidio dell’amico Damien Fleming, avvenuto la stessa sera.

Kevin McDaid, padre di quattro figli, venne ucciso da una banda di lealisti.

Fin dall’omicidio, avvenuto vicino alla casa di McDaid in Somerset Drive, le tensioni sono aumentate in alcune parti di Coleraine.

Un certo numero di case sono state attaccate negli ultimi giorni, compresa l’abitazione di una donna legata ad uno dei sospettati per l’omicidio di McDaid.

Two sons of murdered man arrested

Two sons of murdered Coleraine community worker Kevin McDaid have been arrested by the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch.

The arrests are thought to be connected to events surrounding Mr McDaid’s death in May, rather than the killing itself.

The brothers, both aged 22, are also being questioned about events linked to the attempted murder of his friend Damien Fleming on the same night.

Mr McDaid, a Catholic father-of-four, was killed by a loyalist mob.

Since the killing close to Mr McDaid’s home in Somerset Drive, tensions have been running high in parts of the town.

A number of houses have been attacked in recent days, including the home of a woman related to one of the suspects in Mr McDaid’s murder.
