Un uomo è stato arrestato in connessione con un doppio omicidio e con un attacco incendiario avvenuto in Irlanda del Nord sei anni fa.
L’uomo, 33 anni, è stato fermato ieri nella zona di Essex dagli agenti che indagano sul doppio omicidio di Thomas O’Hare e Lisa McClatchey avvenuto ad Armagh nel 2006.
Dovrebbe comparire domani presso il tribunale di Armagh.
Gli agenti del Serious Crime Branch della PSNI hanno lavorato in collaborazione con la polizia di Kent e Essex per compiere il fermo.
Thomas O’Hare, 33 anni, e la sua compagna Lisa McClatchey, 21 anni, morirono a causa dell’attacco avvenuto nella loro abitazione di Tassagh, vicino a Newtownhamilton. La coppia fu duramente picchiata con dei martelli prima di essere cosparsa di benzina e incendiata.
Attualmente sono in custodia tre fratelli che affrontano accuse connesse agli omicidi.
A gennaio Martin e Niall Smith, rispettivamente di 40 e 37 anni, sono apparsi in tribunale dopo essere stati estradati dalla Repubblica d’Irlanda. Lo stesso mese Stephen Smith, 30 anni, estradato dall’Australia, è stato portato in tribunale per rispondere di incendio doloso.

Man arrested over 2006 double murder
A man has been arrested in connection with a double murder and arson attack in Northern Ireland six years ago.
The man, 33, was detained in the Essex area yesterday by detectives investigating the murder of Thomas O’Hare and Lisa McClatchey in Armagh in November 2006.
He is expected to appear at Armagh Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Officers from the PSNI’s serious crime branch worked in conjunction with Kent and Essex Police to make the arrest.
Thomas O’Hare, 33, and his girlfriend Lisa McClatchey, 21, died when they were attacked at their home at Tassagh, near Newtownhamilton. The couple were beaten with hammers before being doused in petrol and set alight.
Three brothers are currently in custody facing charges connected to the killings.
In January Martin and Niall Smith aged 40 and 37 appeared in court, charged after being extradited to Northern Ireland from the Republic. Later the same month, Stephen Smith, 30, who was extradited from Australia, also appeared in court charged with arson.
