Attacco contro chiesa cattolica a Bangor
Arson attack on Bangor church
Police are investigating after an arson attack on a Catholic church in Bangor.
Two small fires were lit inside the building at St Comgall’s on the Brunswick Road just before 7pm on Wednesday.
The fires broke out in the entrance porch and close to the altar, causing smoke damage.
No-one was injured.
North Down DUP MLA Alex Easton said the attack achieved “nothing only but to heighten tensions and create division.”
“Those who carried out this attack are not reflective of the local community and I totally condemn their actions.”
Police are investigating and have appealed for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity to contact them.
