Verice è stata lanciata contro una chiesa cattolica a Ballymena in quello che la polizia ritiene un attacco settario
Il fatto è stato denunciato alla polizia alle 8:15 di questa mattina.
La polizia chiede aiuto ad eventuali testimoni.
Si è venuti a conoscenza che un gruppo di giovani provenienti da diverse parrocchie cittadine siano pronti a pulire la vernice dall’edificio.
Sono parte del progetto Spark, che ha coinvolto più di 300 ragazzi dalla zona di Ballymena nella pulizia dei quartieri cittadini.
Matthew Boyd è il coordinatore di Spark: “Siamo dispiaciuti di quanto accaduto ancora una volta, ma lo vediamo come un’opportunità per aiutare la comunità cattolica, aiutando a pulire lo sporco lasciato.
“Questa settimana abbiamo cercato di entrare in contatto con la gente di Ballymena e mostrare loro che Gesù è il nostro modo di vivere.
“Allo stesso modo vogliamo aiutare quelli che sono dietro a questi attacchi. Ci piacerebbe entrare in contatto con loro molto più di coloro che sono stati attaccati”.

Church targeted in sectarian attack
Paint has been daubed on a Catholic Church in Ballymena, in what police describe as a sectarian attack.
It was reported to police at around 8.15am on Thursday.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
It comes as a group of young people from various churches across the town prepare to get involved in cleaning the paint up.
They are part of the Spark project, which has this week seen 300 young people from the Ballymena area carry out street clean-ups in estates across the town.
Matthew Boyd is Spark co-ordinator: “We were disappointed to see it happening again as it’s not the first time, but we also see it as an opportunity to serve the Catholic community, to help clean up the mess that’s left.”
“This week we’ve been looking to reach out to the people of Ballymena and show them who Jesus is by the way we live.
“In the same way we want to help those who are behind these attacks. We’d love to reach out to them as much as those who have been attacked.”
