Mercoledì sera Jamie Bickerstaff, 16 anni, è stato trascinato da numerosi uomini nell’ex stabilimento Mackies nella zona di Springfield Road a West Belfast.
Erano le 22:50 quando il giovane è stato picchiato, preso a calci e colpito alcune volte dai proiettili di una pistola ad aria compressa.
L’adolescente è stato aggredito mentre tornava a casa, nella zona di Woodvale.
Trasportato in ospedale per le cure, non è in pericolo di vita.
Parlando alla BBC ha spiegato: “Almeno sette persone si sono presentate di froonte a me e mi hanno chiesto da dove venissi. Ho risposto Woodvale e loro mi hanno detto: ripetilo.
“Poi si sono messi una maschera sul viso e tutti hanno iniziato a colpirmi.
“Quindi uno di loro ha estratto una pistola ad aria compressa e mi ha iniziato a sparare – infine hanno iniziato a colpirmi sulla testa”.
Teenage boy shot with a pellet gun in sectarian hate crime in west Belfast
Jamie Bickerstaff (16) was set upon by a number of men at the site of the former Mackies factory on Wednesday night.
At around 10.50pm he was beaten, kicked and shot a number of times with a pellet gun.
He was attacked as he made his way home to the Woodvale area.
He was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
Speaking to the BBC he said:
“About seven people approached me, and asked me where I was from. I said Woodvale, and they said, say it again.
“Then he put a mask over his face and started hitting me, then they all came over.
“Then one pulled out a pellet gun and started shooting me – then they started beating me about the head.”
