Una bomba è stata trovata sotto ad un’autovettura parcheggiata a North Belfast
Circa 80 persone sono state evacuate dalle loro abitazioni per diverse ore durante l’allarme bomba, iniziato venerdì alle 23 e terminato sabato alle 4.
Per l’Ispettore Capo Ian Campbell i responsabili “hanno mostrato insensibilità per la popolazione”.
Ha spiegato: “Il sospetto va a cadere sui terroristi repubblicani e faccio appello a chiunque abbia informazioni di venire alla polizia”.
Alban Maginness, parlamentare SDLP per North Belfast, ha espresso la propria rabbia per le “azioni vili e temerarie” dei repubblicani.
“Questo è uno sviluppo estremamente sinistro, che ha grandemente irritato la popolazione”.
Secondo il politico i responsabil stanno tentando di “intimidire e provocare sofferenza” nella comunità.
“Ballygomartin è una zona densamente popolata e residenziale. Siamo estremamente fortunati che nessuno sia stato ferito o ucciso qui”.
Maginness, che è anche portavoce per la Giustizia nel partito nazionalista, ha concluso: “Fatto un intenso appello a chiunque sia a conoscenza di informazioni su questo incidente, di comunicarla immediatamente alla polizia”.

Car bomb found in north Belfast
A bomb has been found under a parked car in north Belfast.
About 80 people were evacuated from their homes for several hours during the security alert, which began at 11pm on Friday and ended around 4am on Saturday.
Chief Inspector Ian Campbell said those responsible “have shown callous disregard for members of the public.”
He said:”The finger of suspicion points towards dissident republican terrorists and I appeal to anyone with information to come forward to police.”
Alban Maginness, SDLP MLA for North Belfast, has expressed his anger at what he described as the “cowardly and reckless actions “of dissident Republicans.
“This is an extremely sinister development which has greatly angered local people.”
He accused those responsible of attempting to “intimidate and cause distress” within the community.
“Ballygomartin is a densely populated, residential area and it is extremely fortunate that no one has been injured or killed here.”
Mr Maginness, who is the party’s justice spokesperson, said: “I strongly appeal to anyone with information about this incident to pass it onto the police immediately.”
