Avvertimento del 32 County Sovereignty Movement ai negozianti di Derry

I repubblicani di Derry stanno pianificando l’invio di lettere a negozi e uffici commerciali nella città, avvertendoli di non servire i membri della PSNI

Il 32CSM afferma di aver stilato un elenco di negozi e scuole che hanno rapporti con la polizia e li contatteranno al più presto.

Il gruppo riferisce che le lettere saranno inviate ai negozi, evidenziando ciò che descrivono come il “comportamento inaccettabile” da parte della PSNI.

Un portavoce del 32 County Sovereignty Movement ha raccontato al Derry Journal che, se la loro richiesta di non servire i membri della PSNI sarà ignorata, faranno picchetti e “getteranno fango” sui negozi.

Non è una minaccia

Il portavoce insiste nel dire che la lettera “non è una inaccia” e circolerà tra i negozi nelle prossime settimane.

“Il Sovereignty Movement invierà le lettere ai negozianti spiegando il nostro punto di vista sulla RUC.

“Spiegherà la condotta della polizia, che ferma e perquisisce (stop and search) i bambini e le famiglie di repubblicani”, ha affermato.
Il portavoce rivela che il gruppo è stato contattato da lavoratori che hanno avuto problemi nel servire i poliziotti. “Siamo a conoscenza che il personale di alcuni negozi è stato messo sotto pressione affinché servisse i poliziotti e l’obbligo giunge dai loro superiori”, riferisce.

Potrebbe essere inviata alle scuole

Il portavoce del 32CSM riferisce anche della possibilità di inviare le lettere alle scuole locali.
“Le scuole potrebbero essere comprese nell’elenco dei destinatari delle lettere.

“Non stiamo cercando di opprimere le scuole ma vogliamo evidenziare come i bambini sono perquisiti mentre si recano a scuola.

“Questa non è una minaccia e sarà un’operazione fatta alla luce del sole. Le lettere conterranno un numero di telefono da utilizzare per ricevere maggiori informazioni”, conclude il portavoce.

32CSM warn shops on police

Hardline republicans in Derry are planning to send letters to shops and businesses in the city urging them not to serve members of the PSNI.

The 32 County Sovereignty Movement claim to have drawn up a list of businesses and a number of schools in the city who deal with the police and will be contacting them shortly.

The group says letters will be sent to the premises highlighting what they describe as the “unacceptable behaviour” of the PSNI.

A spokesperson for the group told the ‘Journal’ that, if their request for businesses to shun members of the PSNI is ignored, they will stage pickets and “name and shame” shops.

‘Not a threat’

The spokesperson insists that the letter “is not a threat” and will be circulated to shops in the coming weeks.

“The Sovereignty Movement will be sending letters to businesses explaining our view on the RUC.

“It will explain the conduct of the police in terms of stopping and searching children and the families of republicans,” he said.
The spokesperson also said they have been contacted by workers who had concerns about serving police officers. “We are aware that staff in some shops have been put under pressure to serve policemen and have been forced to do so by their bosses,” he claimed.

May be sent to schools

The 32CSM spokesperson also said the letters could be sent to local schools. “Schools could be included in the list of people who will receive the letters.

“We are not trying to bully schools but we want to highlight the fact that children area being searched on their way to school.

“This is not a threat and will be done in an above board way. The letters will contain a contact number that people can call if they want more information,” he said.
