Baggott “messo a conoscenza” del pacchetto finanziario

Il comandante della PSNI, Matt Baggott, ha detto di essere stato messo pienamente a conoscenza del pacchetto finanziario legato al trasferimento dei poteri su giustizia e sicurezza.

Il pacchetto era stato presentato (da Gordon Brown) al primo ministro Peter Robinson ed al vice primo ministro Martin McGuinness.

Baggott ha detto di aver incontrato il presidente del Policing Board e funzionari del Northern Ireland Office per avere ulteriori delucidazioni su alcuni degli argomenti.

Ha accolto con favore i chiarimenti ricevuti e si è dichiarato soddisfatto di questo progresso.

Matt Baggott ha detto che si è trattato di un accordo complesso e dovrebbe richiedere ulteriori discussioni tra la PSNI ed il Policing Board nel corso dei prossimi giorni.

Ha aggiunto che la PSNI è totalmente impegnata nel fornire il servizio atteso e meritato dalla comunità.

Baggot ‘fully briefed’ on financial package

The PSNI Chief Constable, Matt Baggott, has said he had been fully briefed regarding the financial package on the devolution of Policing and Justice.

The package was presented to First Minster Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.

He said he had met the Policing Board Chairman and Northern Ireland Office officials to seek further explanation on some of the issues of concern.

He welcomed the clarification he had received and said he was encouraged by this progress.

Mr Baggott said it was a complex settlement and would require further discussions between the PSNI and the Policing Board over the next few days.

He added that the PSNI was totally committed to providing the service that the community deserved and expected.
