Una bomba è stata trovata sotto all’autovettura di un ex agente di polizia nel corso di un allarme sicurezza a East Belfast
L’agente ha scoperto l’ordigno venerdì mattina, mentre lasciava l’abitazione nella zona di Kingsway Park a Tullycarnet per andare a prendere la figlia dodicenne a scuola.
La polizia afferma che è solo grazie alla vigilanza dell’ex poliziotto che hanno evitato lo scoppio.
Secondo le prime indagini l’ordigno sarebbe simile ad altri utilizzati dai gruppi repubblicani.
La polizia e gli artificieri dell’esercito restano nella zona della scoperta.
Alcune abitazioni sono state evacuate.

Bomb found under former officer’s car
A booby trap bomb has been found under a former police officer’s car during a security alert in east Belfast.
He discovered the device as he was left his home in the Kingsway Park area of Tullycarnet to take his 12-year-old daughter to school on Friday morning.
Police said it was only down to the former officer’s vigilance they weren’t seriously hurt.
They said the device was quite similar to other devices used by dissident republicans and that this is one line of inquiry.
Police and army bomb squad officer’s remain at the scene of the discovery.
A number of homes have been evacuated.
There are no further details at the minute.
