L’ufficio smistamento di Royal Mail in Tomb Street a Belfast è stato evacuato dopo lo scoppio di un pacco contenente un fuoco d’artificio
I lavoratori sono stati fatti evacuare dall’edificio mentre una squadra di artificieri dell’esercito eseguiva le sue indagini. Presenti sulla scena anche sei autopompe dei vigili del fuoco.
Un portavoce di Royal Mail ha affermato: “Possiamo confermare che la Royal Mail House di Tomb Street, Belfast, è stata evacuata alle 11 di questa mattina dopo che un piccolo pacco contenente un fuoco d’artificio è esploso nel National Returns Centre“.
Nessuno è rimasto ferito nell’incidente.
La polizia ha chiesto a chiunque abbia informazioni di contattare gli investigatori.
Un separato allarme bomba è stato lanciato nella zona di Ravenhill Road e si è già concluso.
GLi artificieri dell’esercito britannico hanno compiuto degli esami su un ordigno sospetto trovato all’esterno di una proprietà situata in London Street, SOuth Belfast, alle 7 del mattino.
Alcuni oggetti sono stati portati via per ulteriori indagini. Le famiglie allontanate dalla zona sono potute rientrare in casa ed i cordoni della polizia sono stati rimossi.

Firework sparks alert at Royal Mail
The Royal Mail sorting office on Tomb Street in Belfast was briefly evacuated on Friday after a parcel containing a firework went off.
Workers were evacuated as the army bomb squad carried out investigations. Six fire engines also attended the scene.
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Royal Mail House in Tomb Street, Belfast was briefly evacuated at 11.00am this morning after a small packet containing a firework went off in the National Returns Centre.”
No-one was injured in the incident.
Police have asked anyone with further information to contact detectives.
A separate bomb scare in the Ravenhill Road area of the city has also ended.
Army technical officers carried out examinations on a suspicious device found outside a property on London Street in south Belfast at 7am.
A number of items have been taken away for further testing. Families from evacuated homes in the area have been allowed to return and cordons have been lifted.
Police have appealed for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
