Un ordigno esplosivo è stato ritrovato durante un allarme sicurezza. Chiusa la linea ferroviaria a South Belfast
Nella serata di domenica la linea ferroviaria è stata chiusa tra Adelaide e Great Victoria Street dopo il ritrovamento dell’ordigno nell’area di Donegall Avenue.
La polizia ha spiegato che gli investigatori del Serious Crime Branch della PSNI hanno ritrovato l’oggetto sospetto.
Gli artificieri dell’esercito sono stati chiamati sulla scena.
“Un ordigno esplosivo artigianale e altri materiali collegati sono stati portati via per ulteriori indagini” ha affermato un portavoce della PSNI.
L’allarme sicurezza è terminato nelle prime ore di lunedì.
Il servizio Belfast – Dublino delle 6:50 ha avuto ritardi. I passeggeri sono stati trasferiti in autobus fino a Newry.
“Il servizio ferroviario adesso sta operando come sempre” ha avvisato Translink.

Crude explosive device near railway line
An explosive device has been found during a security alert which caused the closure of a train line in south Belfast.
The railway line was closed between Adelaide and Great Victoria Street in the city after the device was discovered in the Donegall Avenue area on Sunday evening.
Police said the suspicious object was found by detectives from the PSNI Serious Crime Branch.
Army bomb experts attended the scene.
“A crude viable explosive type device and other related materials have been taken away for further examinations”, a PSNI spokesman said.
The security alert ended in the early hours of Monday morning.
The Belfast – Dublin service at 6.50am was disrupted as a result of the incident, with passengers being bussed to Newry.
“Rail services are now operating as normal,” Translink said.
