Bloody Sunday Inquiry – Libera la verità [Petizione]

Noi sottoscritti sosteniamo il seguente comunicato rilasciato dalle famiglie (delle vittime) del Bloody Sunday e chiediamo al primo ministro inglese Gordon Brown di “liberare la verità” e di dare istruzione a Lord Saville di pubblicare il suo rapporto indipendentemente da qualsiasi interferenza governativa.

“Alle famiglie del Bloody Sunday venne promesso che il rapporto della Bloody Sunday Inquiry sarà consegnato al governo britannico nella settimana del 22 marzo 2010. Comunque, al momento i britannici potranno trattenere il rapporto per un periodo indeterminato, almeno alcune settimane, durante il quale il rapporto sarà esaminato e probabilmente redatto dagli avvocati del ministro della Difesa, gli stessi avvocati che hanno rappresentato i soldati all’inchiesta.

E’ giusto concedere al governo britannico di avere un accesso anticipato al rapporto, di dargli la possibilità di preparare in anticipo una risposta, e la possibilità di modificare il rapporto stilato da Lord Saville?

E’ giustizia il fatto che il governo britannico, responsabile per il Bloody Sunday, controllerà il rilascio e forse anche il contenuto del rapporto?

Le famiglie (delle vittime) ed i feriti non chiedono un trattamento speciale, tutto ciò che domandano è uguaglianza e giustizia in questo momento cruciale. Chiediamo un trattamento giusto per le famiglie ed il rilascio non modificato del rapporto di Lord Saville a tutte le parti interessate nello stesso momento”.

Bloody Sunday Inquiry – Set The Truth Free

We the undersigned support the following statement released by the Bloody Sunday families and call on British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to “Set The Truth Free” and instruct Lord Saville to publish his report independent of any government interference.

“The Bloody Sunday families have been promised that the report of the Bloody Sunday Inquiry will be handed to the British government in the week beginning 22 March 2010. However, at that point the British will keep the report for an indeterminate time, at least a few weeks, during which time it will be scrutinised and possibly redacted by Ministry of Defence lawyers, the same lawyers who represented the soldiers at the Inquiry.

Is it fair that the British government get advance access to the report, advance possibility of preparing a response, and the possibility of changing Lord Saville’s report?

Is it justice that the British government, who were responsible for Bloody Sunday, will control the release and maybe even the content of the report?

The families and the wounded are not asking for special treatment, all they are asking for is equality and justice at this crucial time. We demand that the families be treated fairly and that the report be released intact by Lord Saville to all interested parties at the same time.”
