CasaPound usurpa immagine di Bobby Sands

Danny Morrison ha rilasciato un comunicato per conto del Bobby Sands Trust, di cui è Segretario, condannando il gruppo italiano per essersi appropriato del nome e dell’immagine di Bobby Sands nel tentativo di conquistare credibilità e sostegno.

Danny Morrison ha detto:

Alcune settimane fa abbiamo ricevuto numerose e-mail in relazione ad un’organizzazione italiana, CasaPound Italia, secondo le quali era stata pianificata o era già avvenuta la commercializzazione di prodotti con l’effige ed il nome di Bobby Sands.

Inizialmente abbiamo deciso di non rilasciare alcuna dichiarazione pubblica per non dare a questo gruppo ulteriore pubblicità. Tuttavia, adesso sentiamo sia giunto il momento di far sapere alla popolazione italiana che questa organizzazione non ha mai contattato il Trust per chiedere l’autorizzazione ad usare il nome o l’immagine di Bobby Sands e se anche lo avessero fatto non avrebbero ottenuto il permesso.

Questo gruppo non ha diritto ad utilizzare le immagini degli hunger strikers repubblicani che si opposero all’oppressione e lottarono per la libertà della popolazione e chiediamo a CasaPound Italia di smettere con l’erroneo utilizzo dei patrioti irlandesi.

Mentre ci avviciniamo al 30° anniversario del 1981 Hunger Strike (Sciopero della Fame del 1981), incoraggiamo tutti i gruppi e le organizzazioni internazionali che rispecchiano fedelmente i principi e l’integrità degli hunger strikers e della loro causa.

Italian group has no right to use Bobby Sands – Bobby Sands Trust

DANNY MORRISON has issued a statement on behalf of the Bobby Sands Trust condemning an Italian group for misappropriating the name and image of Bobby Sands in a bid to garner credibility and support.

Danny Morrison said:

A few weeks ago, we received a number of emails in relation to an Italian organisation, CasaPound Italia, reporting that it planned to or had already merchandised in the name of Bobby Sands.

Initially, we decided to make no public statement in order not to give the group any further publicity. However, we now feel that we need to make it clear to the Italian people that this organisation never contacted the Trust for permission to use Bobby Sands’ name or image and that had they contacted us they would not have been granted permission.

This group has no right to exploit the imagery of Irish republican hunger strikers who opposed oppression and fought for the freedom of people and we call upon CasaPound Italia to stop such misuse of Irish patriots.

As we approach the 30th anniversary of the 1981 Hunger Strike, we encourage all groups and organisations internationally who faithfully reflect the principles and integrity of the Hunger Strikers and their cause.
