Gli agenti hanno fermato una vettura e trattenuto gli uomini in Falls Road intorno alle 22 di ieri, a pochi minuti di distanza dall’uso di armi da fuoco in St James Road.
Un uomo era l’obiettivo degli spari punitivi avvenuti in un’abitazione, ma non è rimasto ferito. Gli arresti sono avvenuti poco dopo, durante le operazioni di ricerca da parte della PSNI.
Gli artificieri dell’esercito sono stati chiamati ad esaminare l’autovettura fermata. Falls Road è stata chiusa dall’incrocio con Whiterock Road fino al deposito degli autobus.
I cinque uomini fermati sono stati portati presso la Serious Crime Suite della stazione di Antrim.

Five arrested after punishment shooting bid
Officers stopped a car and detained the men on the Falls Road at about 10pm last night after a shooting a few minutes earlier on nearby St James Road.
A man was the target of a punishment shooting in a house, but he was not injured. The arrests took place during a police follow-up operation.
Army bomb disposal experts were called to examine the car that had been stopped. The Falls Road was closed between the junction with Whiterock Road and the Falls bus depot.
The arrested men were taken to Antrim serious crime suite for questioning.
