Cogús POWs Christmas 2014 Statement

Cogús Republican POWs Christmas message to their families, friends, supporters and comrades.

As we approach the Christmas period Cogús Republican POWs in Maghaberry and Hydebank Gaol wish to acknowledge and pay tribute to our loved ones, families, friends, supporters and comrades for the tireless work they do on our behalf.

The unwavering support and activism you do on our behalf is of vital importance to the struggle for political status by Republican POWs. To say that we are extremely proud of you would be an understatement. Your continuous support and activism is the inspiration that strengthens our resolve and determination, for this we would like to thank you all.

In recent weeks we are sure you have heard and read in the media reports about the current stocktake process, this stocktake process was put in place to break the current impasse created by the Gaol administration and POA around the implementation of the 12th of August agreement 2010, yet again these elements coupled with the DUP are coming together to sabotage efforts by Republican POWs to establish a conflict free environment within Roe House.

Despite all their efforts to sabotage any progress Republican POWs will remain steadfast, resolute, unbowed and unbroken. We take this stance with your continued unconditional support.

In ending we would also like to send solidarity greetings to our comrades incarcerated in Portlaoise Gaol and wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Go raibh mhaith agaibh
