Il ministro della giustizia David Ford ha condannato la minaccia contro il personale di un’azienda operante nell’ambito della sicurezza.
La minaccia contro i membri di G4S giunge dal gruppo repubblicano dell’IRA.
David Ford afferma che i responsabili dovrebbero ritirare immediatamente la minaccia.
Il commento del ministro giunge dopo l’attacco armato fallito contro un automezzo di G4S avvenuto a Belfast.
Nessuno è rimasto ferito nel corso dell’incidente.
David Ford ha detto, in risposta: “Le minacce contro chiunque viva nella nostra comunità sono inaccettabili e questa minaccia deve essere ritirata immediatamente.
“Le aziende che svolgono regolari contratti con il governo aiutano la nostra società a funzionare normalmente e il loro personale deve essere in grado di svolgere il proprio compito senza timori o minacce.
“Il monitoraggio elettronico fornisce un importante contributo alla sicurezza pubblica e permette agli individui che potrebbero essere rimandati in custodia cautelare di restare con le proprie famiglie mentre la giustizia segue il proprio corso. La minacce di questo tipo non aiutano nessuno”.

Justice Minister condemns dissident republican threat against security firm staff
The Justice Minister has condemned a threat against security firm staff issued by dissident republicans.
The threat against G4S staff came from a group calling itself the IRA, it was reported.
David Ford has said those who issued the threat need to withdraw it immediately.
It follows gun attack on an empty G4S vehicle in Belfast.
No one was injured.
Responding to the threats, David Ford said:
“Threats against anyone in our community are totally unacceptable and this threat needs to be withdrawn immediately.
“Companies carrying out legitimate contracts for government help our society to function normally and their staff need to be able to carry out their work without the fear of threat.
“Electronic monitoring makes an important contribution to public safety and enables individuals who might otherwise be remanded in custody to remain with their families whilst the justice process takes its course. Threats of this nature help no one.”
