Un allarme sicurezza è in corso a Derry dopo che uomini a volto coperto hanno obbligato l’autista di un camion a trasportare un oggetto alla stazione di polizia di Strand Road
Il veicolo è stato bloccato nell’area di Galliagh mentre l’autista stava effettuando una consegna in Ederowen Park intorno alle 12:30.
Due uomini hanno caricato un oggetto a bordo del veicolo e hanno ordinato all’autista di portarlo alla stazione PSNI di Strand Road.
Il camion è stato fermato in Buncrana Road e la polizia è intervenuta.
Un comunicato della polizia afferma: “Abbiamo chiesto al personale del St Columb College e a chi lavora nel complesso industriale di Springtown di abbandonare l’area”.

Lorry hijacking sparks Derry alert
A security alert is underway in Londonderry after masked men ordered a lorry driver to take an object to Strand Road police station.
The vehicle was stopped in the Galliagh area while the driver was making a delivery to Ederowen Park on Wednesday at about 12.30pm.
Two men loaded an object on board and ordered him to bring it to a PSNI station in the city.
The lorry was stopped at Buncrana Road and police are attending the scene.
A statement from the PSNI said: “Staff have been advised to leave St Columb’s College and people have also been moved from business units in the Springtown Industrial Estate.”
