E dopo l’incontro con funzionari della polizia, il parlamentare di Foyle Pat Ramsey ha riferito che lui ed il partito si sentono “rassicurati” su come verrà gestita la marcia da parte della PSNI.
La discussione è avvenuta dopo le aumentate paure causate dallo scoppio di un’autobomba “firmata” Oglaigh na hEireann davanti alla stazione di polizia di Strand Road, avvenuta martedì scorso, in vista della marcia chiamata “Relief of Derry” (la Liberazione di Derry) che attirerà centinaia di persone.
Ci sono stati attacchi nelle più calde interfacce cittadine così come un attacco contro l’eroe dell’Assedio di Derry, Walker presso l’Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall.
Ramsey ed i suoi colleghi di partito hanno incontrato il Soprintendente Capo Stephen Martin per fargli conoscere le preoccupazioni espresse dai negozianti e dai residenti riguardo all’impatto della marcia.
Ramsey fa appello alla calma sia ai partecipanti della parata che ai contestatori della pianificata protesta repubblicana.

And following a meeting with senior police officers yesterday, Foyle MLA Pat Ramsey said he and his party colleagues feel “reassured” about policing provision for the march.
The discussion came amid heightened fears after a dissident republican car bomb exploded outside Strand Road PSNI station in Derry last Tuesday ahead of the annual Relief of Derry parade, which is set to attract hundreds of people.
There have been attacks at interface flashpoints across the city recently as well as an attack on the statue of Siege of Derry hero Governor Walker at the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall.
Mr Ramsey and party colleagues met with area commander, Chief Supt Stephen Martin to convey concerns expressed by traders and local residents about the impact of the march.
Mr Ramsey appealed for calm from those taking part in the parade and the planned republican protest.
