Derry: case evacuate nel quartiere di Carnhill

Alcune abitazioni sono state evacuate nel corso di un allarme bomba a Derry

Mercoledì mattina la polizia ha ricevuto informazioni su un oggetto sospetto abbandonato nel quartiere di Carnhill.

Gli artificieri dell’esercito britannico sono stati inviati sulla scena e gli automobilisti sono stati avvertiti di evitare la zona.

Gli sfollati sono “oltraggiati” per il disturbo provocato da dover abbandonare le proprie abitazioni.

Una donna descrive l’allarme come una “disgrazia”.

“Mi ero appena svegliata dal letto e mi hanno detto di uscire”, afferma.

“Questo (allarme) colpisce solo la gente che abita qui”.

Homes evacuated during security alert in Londonderry

A number of homes have been evacuated due to a bomb alert in Londonderry.

The police received reports of a suspicious object in the Carnhill estate at 0930 BST on Wednesday morning.

Army bomb experts were sent to the scene and motorists have been advised to avoid the area.

Elderly people and parents said they were “outraged” by the disruption of having to move from their homes.

One woman described the incident as “a disgrace”.

“I just woke out of my bed and was told to get out,” she said.

“This doesn’t affect anyone else but the people who live here.”
