Derry: danneggiato murale dedicato ad una vittima della Real IRA

Un murales dedicato ad una vittima della Real IRA, posizionato sul retro del Free Derry Corner, è stato danneggiato in due differenti incendi notturni

Immagini di Kieran Doherty, assassinato dalla Real IRA, e della sua famiglia erano state messe sul retro del monumento repubblicano nel Bogside a Derry.

I pompieri sono stati chiamati sulla scena venerdì sera.

Il corpo senza vita di Doherty fu ritrovato nei dintorni di Derry a febbraio.

Il trentunenne fu trovato nudo e legato lungo Braehead Road, nei pressi del confine con la Repubblica d’Irlanda.

Sempre nel corso della giornata di venerdì bottiglie incendiare sono state lanciate contro due abitazioni in Westland Park, sempre a Derry.

Danni sono stati riscontrati ad un patio e a un giardino esterno ad una delle due abitazioni.

I lanci di molotov sarebbero avvenuti intorno alle 21.15 di venerdì.

Real IRA victim mural damaged

A mural to a Real IRA victim on the back of Free Derry Wall has been damaged in two separate overnight fires.

Pictures of Kieran Doherty, who was murdered by the Real IRA, and his family had been placed on the back of the wall.

The fire service was called to the scene on Friday night.

Mr Doherty’s body was found on the outskirts of Londonderry in February.

The 31-year-old was found naked and bound on the Braehead Road near the Irish border.

Meanwhile, petrol bombs have been thrown at two houses in at Westend Park.

Damage was caused to a patio area and a garden outside one of the homes.

It happened around 9.15pm on Friday.
