In seguito alle informazioni fornite alla polizia da parte di persone residenti nel quartiere di Bogside, le molotov sono state trovate dalla PSNI e l’ispettore Jon Burrows ha reso omaggio ai residenti.
Ha parlato al North West Telegraph della fantastica risposta ottenuta dagli abitanti della zona, che ha aiutato enormemente i loro sforzi.
Ha quindi aggiunto: “L’anno scorso abbiamo pubblicato le foto di 70 persone sospettati di reati di ordine pubblico e con l’aiuto della gente del Bogside e di Fountain, siamo stati in grado di identificare ognuno di essi.
“Abbiamo appena pubblicato le immagini provenienti da telecamere a circuito chiuso di 50 persone sospettate dello stesso reato quest’anno e sono sicuro che avremo lo stesso livello di successo.
Ha aggiunto: “Sappiamo che le persone nella zona sono preoccupate dei potenziali disordini nell’avvicinarsi della parata degli Apprentice Boys di agosto, ma non lasceremo nulla intentato nei nostri sforzi per evitare il ripetersi delle scene che abbiamo avuto qui il 12 luglio”.
Locals help police find petrol bomb haul
Following up on information given to the police by people in the Bogside, the petrol bombs were found by the PSNI and Inspector Jon Burrows paid tribute to the residents.
He told the North West Telegraph the fantastic response they have had from people in the area helped their efforts tremendously.
He added: “Last year we published photographs of 70 people that were suspected of public order offences, and with the help of the people from the Bogside and the Fountain, we were able to identify every single one of them.
“We have just released pictures of 50 people from CCTV suspected of the same offences this year and are confident that we will have the same level of success.
He added: “We know people in the areas are concerned about potential trouble in the run up to the Apprentice Boys Parade in August but we will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to prevent a repeat of the scene we had here on July 12.”
