In un comunicato, il gruppo respinge le notizie secondo cui avrebbe lanciato un avvertimento ai repubblicani dopo aver sparato contro due giovani la scorsa settimana.
Entrambi i due feriti provengono da conosciute famiglie repubblicane ed uno è il figlio di un ex-POW dell’IRA.
Il gruppo afferma di essere stato frainteso.
“Mai abbiamo pensato di minacciare qualsiasi repubblicano”, si legge nel comunicato.
Le voci sono cresciute dopo che il padre del giovane ferito aveva detto che il RAAD stava “prendendo di mira i repubblicani”.
Il gruppo repubblicano ha affermato che i figli dei repubblicani non vengono esentati dai loro attacchi per via delle loro parentele.

RAAD deny threats against republicans
In a statement, the group rejected reports that it had issued a warning to republicans following the shooting of two young men in the city last week.
Both men were from a prominent republican family and one is the son of a former IRA prisoner.
The vigilante group said its views had been misrepresented.
“At no point did we threaten any republican,” the RAAD statement said.
The issue arose after the father of one of the victims of last week’s shootings claimed that RAAD were “putting it up to republicans”.
The group said last week that children of republicans will not be exempt from their attacks because of who their parents are.
