Incendio doloso presso gli uffici di Derry dello Sinn Féin
L’ufficio principale del partito a Ráth Mor sulla Eastway Road è stato attaccato nella serata di domenica, poco prima di mezzanotte.
La polizia afferma che un vetro è stato infranto e all’interno è stato versato del liquido infiammabile.
La PSNI è rimasta sulla scena per tutta la notte, continuando le indagini sull’accaduto.
Un portavoce dei pompieri ha detto che il personale ha impiegato circa un’ora per domare l’incendio.
Ha aggiunto: “Era un incendio relativamente piccolo che siamo riusciti a gestirlo velocemente.
“Sono stati provocati danni in una sezione dell’edificio e stiamo gestendo l’accaduto come incendio doloso”.
I membri dello Sinn Féin saranno “in ufficio come sempre” a partire da questa mattina.
Raymond McCartney, parlamentare dello Sinn Féin, ha affermato: “Questo fatto deve essere condannato perché è un tentativo di attaccare il processo democratico.
“Non smetteremo di lavorare per la gente di Derry.
“Il lavoro del Derry Sinn Féin prosegue come sempre, continuando a servire la popolazione della città e dell’intero nord ovest”.

Sinn Féin targeted in Derry arson
Sinn Féin has been targeted in an arson attack at the party’s Londonderry offices.
The party’s main constituency offices at Ráth Mór on the Eastway Road was targeted late on Sunday.
Police said a rear window was broken and a flammable liquid poured through shortly before midnight.
The scene was held overnight and police investigations are continuing.
A fire service spokesman said crews dealt with the blaze for around an hour.
He added: “It was a relatively small fire which we managed to contain quickly.
“Damage was caused to offices in one section of the building and we are treating the incident as deliberate.”
Sinn Féin said it was “business as usual” at the offices on Monday.
MLA Raymond McCartney said: “This must be condemned as an attempt to attack the democratic process.
“It will not stop us working or the people of Derry.
“It will be business as usual for Derry Sinn Féin, continuing to serve the people of the city and the wider north west.”
Police are appealing for information.
